It's the Arthur Prior Centenary year. And the 4th of December is Arthur Prior's birthday. So the friends of Arthur Prior in Denmark are planning a small celebration at the Section for Philosophy and Science Studies, Roskilde University (RUC). We will be starting at 14.00 on December the 4th and finishing at around 18.00. All are warmly welcome.
For those of you unfamiliar with his work, Arthur Prior was a philosophical logician. Born in New Zealand, he worked there for many years, but spent his last years in England, at Manchester and Oxford. He died in 1969, while travelling, in Trondheim, Norway. He is best known for his work on time and temporal logic, where he emphasized the importance of the internal, subject centered view of time, but he published on many topics, including metaphysics, ethics and theology.

Unsurprisingly, Arthur Prior also has many friends in New Zealand. They will be celebrating his birthday too, down in Christchurch, at the 2014 NZAP Conference and we'd like to send them our best wishes from Denmark for the event.
The main Arthur Prior Centenial Conference, was held earlier this year at Balliol College Oxford. Prior was a fellow of Balliol College at the time of his death.
