There are rich traditions in cognitive science, psychology, linguistics, philosophy, artificial intelligence and logic centering on the theme of perspective-taking: the ability of agents to view information from different viewpoints, and to take the viewpoint of other agents into account. Expressions such as Theory of Mind, Conversational Implicature and Social Cognition indicate some relevant themes. This year's Perspectives-Taking Meeting follows on from last year's edition, which was also held at RUC.
This year the meeting will be a morning-only event. This is because another highly relevant workshop, the Autism Research Network meeting, is being held the same day at the same location from 13.00 - 17.00. Participants of the Perspectives-Taking Meeting are most welcome (indeed, are strongly encouraged!) to stay on for the Autism Network Meeting which follows right afterwards. Please email Irina Polyanskaya ([email protected]) if you want to attend (either or both) of these workshops.
Both meetings are free of charge, and are organized by Irina Polyanskaya, Torben Braüner, and Patrick Blackburn.
